1º Nome Branco 2016 (Magnum) White
The first name defines us bluntly. No questions asked. It's by the first name that we call those who are closer to us. No formalities. This is not any Louro, this one was made by Miguel.
Vineyards
Vines planted in slaty soils, close to the city of Estremoz, Alentejo. The continental Mediterranean climate has as main characteristic the thermic amplitude that ranges between hot days and cold nights on the grape maturation period.
Vinification
Manual harvest in the beginning of September, cold pelicular maceration for 24 hours, French oak fermentation with an 8 month staging over thin lees.

Tasting | |
Yellow straw-coloured.
Prominent vegetable notes, green apples with a slight floral touch. Without being exhuberant, show a bit of toast that gives complexity and seriousness.
Medium body with silky texture, strong acidity that brings a long, mineral finish.
Cheeses, fish dishes, coal grilled meats. Great with an oven roasted codfish on a family lunch. |
