Reserva 2012 Red
Concept
Wine produced from the traditional Douro castes, namely Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, which reflects the character of the Lower Corgo sub-region, with consistent quality from year to year. Full wine, smelling, combining concentration and elegance, with good aging ability.
Vintage
The harvest of 2012 was the latest in recent years due to the low temperatures which allowed is slow and balanced ripeness in terms of acidity and sugars. The harvest, decided after analysis of berries, took place in mid-September, arriving the grapes in excellent sanitary condition. The transport to the winery was done in boxes of 25 kg.
Technology
The grapes, at the ideal moment of maturation, were harvested manually, and fermented with prolonged tanning stemmed in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak for 18 months. After bottling in July 2014, staged in the wine bottle for 6 months before leaving for the market. 3100 bottles of 0.75 cl plus 100 Magnum bottles were produced.
Description
Ruby color alive and deep, intense aroma where stands out the ripe fruit and some vegetable, with easy perception of the notes of vanilla and spices, own of the stage in wood. In the mouth, the body is well balanced by acidity and alcohol, which gives it an aging capacity and makes it an appropriate companion for meat dishes.
