Quinta de S. José Touriga Nacional 2014 Red
Origin
The grapes used to make this wine came from the different parcels of grapes from Quinta de S. José, which is situated in Cima Corgo, next to the river, from 150 to 300m of altitude. North exposition and very schist soil.
Vinification
Grapes harvested by hand, for 25 kg boxes in its ideal point of ripeness; intending to show a vigorous maturity, leading to higher aromatic and polyphenolic concentrations. After soft crushing and total destemming, the grapes are trodden by foot in vats where they ferment, thus allowing the quality of constituents present in films of very ripe grapes pass smoothly into the wine.
After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged in used barrels of French oak of 300 liters for approximately 12 months.

Colour purple and quite deep.
Very complex and distinctive aromas where the fruity and floral character, characteristic of the grape variety, predominates initially, with some spicy notes coming from the wood.
In the mouth it shows fruit, complexity, great balance and harmony with high level tannins that give it a long finish of mouth.
