Quinta do Avelar Arinto 2015 White
Vine:
Quinta do Avelar is one of the oldest wine producers "BUCELLAS". Its lands extend by the famous “Caeiras", the half-slopes and valleys of clay-calcareous soils, that constitute the terroir of excellence of the Arinto variety.
With an average age of over thirty years, our vineyards have the maturity to create a great white wine.
The grapes (85% Arinto and 15% Sercial) were harvested at their ideal maturation in early autumn.
Wine:
The grapes, carefully selected in the vine, are harvested by hand and immediately transported to the winery. On arrival, the grapes are stripped, pressed, and vinified traditionally by the "Open Spout" process. One part was fermented in small stainless steel vats, temperature controlled and another part fermented and aged in used oak barrels.
