Quinta do Avelar Vinhas Velhas 2015 Red
Vine:
Quinta do Avelar is one of the oldest producers of IG Lisboa wine.
Its lands extend through the famous "Caeiras", the half-slopes and valleys of clay-calcareous soils that constitute a terroir of excellence.
With an age of more than 80 years, our vineyard has the maturity to create a great red wine of the oldest varieties of the region of Lisbon, such as the Aragonez, the Camarate (Castelão Nacional) Castelão, the Trincadeira, the Tinta Miúda and others.
The yields obtained are naturally low (about 3 ton / ha) reaching full maturation at the end of September.
Wine:
The grapes, carefully selected in the vine, are harvested by hand and immediately transported to the winery.
On arrival, the grapes are stalked. The fermentation takes place in small stainless steel vats, with controlled temperature, and the maceration made by the reassembly process.
After fermentation, during their fifteen-month stint, in used half-barrels of French oak, the wines are carefully accompanied and proven to decide the best combination of the final batch.
