Philosophy
A wine grown on a privileged terroir.
A terroir whose slopes, at sunset time, are covered with unique golden colours.
A terroir that since the 17th century is wellknown as the “Hill of Gold”.
Viticulture
Organic production with a single plot managemement winegrowing work.
Soil
Lime and clay from the superior jurassic period. Twenty hectares with different expositions and slopes.
Climate
Mediterranean microclimate with an Atlantic influence. Cold nights even during summer, max. temperatures of 31ºC, 675 mm average rainfall and a permanent blowing wind.
Vinification
Plot winegrowing work (various distinct Syrah plots) from the harvest to the end of the ageing process. Handmade harvest, with manual sorting. Desteming with no crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel temperature controlled vats. 10 days maceration. Stage for about 16 to 20 months in french oak barrels, 30% of which new ones.
Tasting Notes
Excellent in concentration because it is at the perfect state, without being exaggerated. Dense and lively aroma, with black fruits, spices and good vegetable notes. Very elegant in the mouth, delicate tannins and refreshing acidity. Evident class. João Paulo Martins, Revista de Vinhos magazine
