Estate collection 2012 Red
The inimitable blend of the Portuguese varieties Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, along with a French variety Syrah and a Dash of Merlot, created this unique wine!
Waiting for the right time to pick the fruit is rewarded by obtaining this harmonious wine that shows a rich aroma and elegant and voluptuous palate.
Vintage 2012 was characterized by a dry summer but with some cool nights that helped reach the perfect phenolic maturation. This, along with the small yield, gave good concentration and elegance to the red wines at Quinta do Pinto.
Geology
Clay-limestone soil, originally from the Jurassic period, with clayey and loamy texture. Soft slopes with southern exposure.
Viticulture Method
Integrated Production.
Vinification
Careful vine management to enhance all the fruit potential. Handpicked grapes into 20 Kg cases followed by an exhausted selection of bunches in the cellar. Temperature controlled alcoholic fermentation in concrete deposits using only indigenous yeast, during 14 days, followed by malolactic fermentation and 12 months ageing in second and third-year French oak barrels.
