Casa Américo Vinhas Centenárias 2013 Red
HISTORY
The Casa Américo was established by the hands of Américo Seabra, father, who had the dream of producing wine in the land where he was born, Vila Nova de Tazém. The project was followed up by the hands of its children who recovered the property of the century. And built a new wine cellar. Casa Américo now has 100 hectares of vineyards, with the oldest being over 100 years old. Planted with the noble grape varieties of the Dão region, on poor granite terrain and are planted between 500 and 600m altitude. The sub-region where they are, Serra da Estrela, is one of the terroirs most important of the Dão and here are produced noble wines with a freshness and unique elegance.
VINEYARDS
These grapes are from our oldest vineyard, Quinta da Cerca, more than 100 years old. The plantation has white varieties and paints, some rare such as Camarate, Bastardo, Mourisco and Folha de Figueira.
VINIFICATION
The grapes were carefully selected in the vineyard and then fully dehaired for a granite winery. During the fermentation the wort was homogenized by foot walking, with temperature control through endogenous plates. To preserve all the delicacy of this wine, the stage is only in stainless steel tanks and then a minimum of 12 months in bottle after bottling.
AGEING:
Stainless steel only.
ANALYSIS

TASTING NOTE by João Paulo Martins
Made with grapes from a vineyard (0.5 ha) with 130 years old, where some white strains pontificate. Very fine of aromas, there is some mystery in this aroma, difficult to read but showing very good complexity and a rare elegance. Very well in the mouth, extremely elegant, is a wine full of history to tell and without stage in wood.
